Monte Vista Breakfast/Lunch
Guidelines
This year Monte Vista is offering the opportunity for students to have breakfast and/or lunch on campus. As an independent study school we are bound by certain rules for students to participate. They are as follows:
1. Meals must be ordered by 8:00 a.m. via a google form that you can find here. This form is also posted on the front page of the school website. There is no exception to this rule - the exact number of meals will be brought to fulfill our orders, meals that are not distributed are sent back to the district.
2. We do not offer any a la carte items at Monte Vista. Only the state mandated free lunch is available. You can choose a meal with no drink but you cannot choose just a drink.
2. Student ID numbers are used to pick up lunch and check in/out of campus. Please make sure your student brings their ID or knows their ID number by heart. If you don’t have an ID, please come to the office to have your picture taken and one printed for you.
3. When students come on campus for a meal they are required to check-in and out. When they arrive on campus they will head to the front office and scan their student ID to check in. Before they leave for the day they must come back to the office to scan their student ID to check out.
4. Students must be on campus and involved in active learning for a minimum of two hours on any day they have signed up for a meal.
EXAMPLE 1: a student signs up for lunch on Tuesday. They attend an appointment with their teacher (1 hour) and later attend art (1 hour). They have attended the appropriate amount of time on campus.
EXAMPLE 2: Student signs up for breakfast on Friday. They attend STEAM at 10:00 a.m. (1.5 hours) and Piano at 12:30. (1 hour). They have attended the appropriate time on campus
EXAMPLE 3: Student signs up for lunch on Wednesday. They attend sewing from 2:30 - 4:00 (1.5 hours) and leave campus. They have NOT attended the appropriate amount of time on campus.
5. Meals must be consumed on campus during breakfast/lunch time. Meal distribution will take place in the cafeteria and students will eat lunch at our new lunch tables outside the MPR, weather permitting.
If you have questions about this process please contact the front office at 805.579.6326 and we will be happy to assist you.
